No matter how pretty or how helpful they try to make it, it’s still a “Screen of Death”….
If it’s pretty enough and add a smiley, people won’t mind that they’ve just lost whatever work they’ve done recently. 🙂 At least, that seems to be the Microsoft thinking behind this change, and behind the blue background in the first place.

Believe it or not, I remember that. 🙂 It seemed to make a lot more sense on the Mac though, as it was designed to be a lot more user-friendly than Windows ever managed.
