A few Firefox extensions, like flash blocking and an extension, “auto-pager” that makes most “multi-page” websites into a single page, make sites like that almost bearable. 😉
Ads aren’t that bad… so long as they aren’t flashing or moving, anyway. 😉 FlashBlock prevents most such ads from appearing, and the escape key (at least in Firefox) stops the few animated GIFs that remain.
The multi-page thing is an annoyance, but a tolerable one (to me), so I haven’t bothered with the “auto-pager” extension.
