I love the idea of these things. (My sister says she wants one that says “see anything you like?”) But I wouldn’t wear one through airport security, I don’t have several hours to waste cooling my heels.
Although this article hits the nail right on the head, I don’t expect Obama or anyone else to make any changes — except, perhaps, banning more ridiculous things (as the TSA has already done — correction, the restrictions have apparently been eased now). Even if Obama wanted to (which he might), he’d face huge political …

Too bad this turned out to be a hoax. The Transportation Safety Administration has done enough stupid things in the name of “security” recently to make it easily believable.
I’m a big fan of the game Portal, and it’s fairly classic, but I’m baffled by this. In another case of life-imitates-science-fiction, Bruce Schneier reports that someone has discovered the perfect description of today’s “security theater” in a 1956 Asimov story. (For those of you not following along at home, “security theater” refers to all the crap the TSA is doing that is trivial to get around, but that they’re doing just …
I doubt this sort of thing will become the preferred way to attend a wedding any time soon, but until recently it wouldn’t have been possible for the home-bound bridesmaid to attend at all. Telepresence will only get better — easier to use, more reliable, with more control for the remote user — over time. …

I had an interesting e-mail yesterday, an offer from a software company: tap tap tap is back with the top photography app for iPhone, Camera+. And to celebrate the launch of the all-new Camera+ 2, with over 50 awesome new features, we’re giving away a custom engraved “TSA Grope-free Edition” iPad, every day for the …
