  1. There are incompetents everywhere, but it’s a lot easier to hide your incompetence when you’re in an organization like the CIA. It’s unfortunate that the incompetents there have some actual power too.

  2. Things have only gotten worse in the CIA since the Pollard arrest so I hear, a lot of people in high places in the CIA are treating every Jew there like they’re a potential Israeli spy. (Maybe they should be more worried about people spying for enemy countries…)

  3. “Diplomacy is the art of saying “Nice doggie!” till you can find a rock.” I imagine spies have a much easier time when spying on their nominal allies than on enemies.

  4. Pollard didn’t get an “easy time”, he’s been in prison over 20 years for spying for Israel, serving a life sentence without parolle. His time already served is a record for spying on an allied country in the United States. I agree that he should be punished, but it isn’t in proportion, IMHO. Plus the repercussions for Jewish members of the intelligence community are inappropriate.
