  1. Welcome to the World of Apple. 😉 Are you writing the message via the browser or via the free WordPress app from the app store? The WordPress app is much easier to write and read stuff in from your blog.

  2. OBTW, for syncing address and calendar events, use the “info” tab in iTunes while it is connected to your computer. If you’ve got Mobile Mess, you also can get it to do so wirelessly in a “push” fashion, you do that within the iPod touch settings application. (Where is mentioned on the iTunes screen.) I don’t know how you’ll get that to work in Linux though…

  3. Via the WordPress app. I’m not sure I’ll continue using it though, I like the editing system in WordPress itself.

Yes, I figured out how to sync things. And no, I don’t use “Mobile Me,” and don’t plan to. At the moment, I’m synching via a Windows virtual machine; it seems to do the trick, though I had to actually boot into Windows to update the firmware to 2.0.1.

  4. Well, there’s a reason why people call it Mobile Mess. It’s very unreliable. I was just trying to upload a new photo to their (visually excellent) gallery and it didn’t work, and gave me an error that pointed me in the wrong direction at that. Flikr and gmail are much better at hosting photos and mail, respectively. The only thing going for it is “push” email and contacts, and Mac integration. If it was reliable, it might even be worth it, but so far Apple doesn’t seem to know how to do reliable internet services other than iTunes.

(Which is probably why Jobs ordered a “reorg” with the iTunes head being the head of Mobile Me. A “reorg” for Apple is their response to something going dreadfully wrong. 😉 )
