And neither can fairies, according to this fellow. What a bummer. Tinkerbell and Archangel Michael will be so disappointed when I tell them about his research. 😉

Angels are anthropomorphized as winged beings, but all the ones in the Tanakh (Jewish Bible) appear as people when on this plane, except in visions of the heavenly plane which are obviously symbolic (think Ezekiel). In Jewish mysticism are considered pure emotion (malakhim) or pure thought (seraphim). Maimonidies said that even the appearances of angels in the Torah were not angels, but were something else, e.g. appearing in a dream or the like, he was of the opinion that angels were too rarified to meet people. Of course, that makes angels fairly irrelevant, but then again, they’re not particularly relevant in the highly monotheistic Jewish theology. 🙂
‘Fraid you completely missed the point, which was that this guy seems to have way too much time on his hands.
I probably missed that point because I also have too much time on my hands. 😉
