As a member of this “little-understood group,” I have to recommend this article.

It’s funny, I never could figure out if I am an introvert or extrovert. When I take a similar test to Myers-Briggs, it seems to depend on my mood how it comes out. 😉 All the other factors are clear though. Basically I’m fairly garrulous but don’t feel too comfortable about other people and like to think and be alone a lot. I guess it goes to prove that categories such as introvert/extrovert are sometimes not so accurate for all people, even if they work for most people.
It sounds like you’re an extroverted introvert, an even more exclusive group (especially as I just made up the name myself). 😉
Not all that exclusive, they say that actors for example are somewhat ambiguous as far as the extrovert/introvert divide goes. I often have the feeling that’s mentioned in the article that I’m “acting” when I’m around other people.
