This story seems a bit daft, until you realize exactly how the scientists expect to find signs of extraterrestrial life. It actually sounds feasible. Of course, given that a Vulcan has recently been discovered in Canada, they may not need telescopes to find extraterrestrial life.

Uh, I hate to point this out, Ms. Ong, but unless that jacket goes around your face, it’s not going to do much to protect you from smog. The same goes for the dress: cold and flu viruses generally get in through the nose and mouth, not the parts covered by a traditional dress.
