I use JP Software’s 4NT, a wonderful and much-improved command shell (it replaces Windows’ CMD.EXE). JP Software released a major version of it about six or seven months ago, and there have been about a dozen minor updates since. Unfortunately, they don’t have any way to automatically check when these updates come out… you have [...]
Identity Theft Prevention and Attorney’s Advice
My favorite aunt sent me this e-mail a few weeks ago. I’ve been trying to think where I could put it that I’d be sure I could find it again whenever anyone needed it, and this seems to be the perfect place. I’ve cleaned up the text, but made no other changes to it.
All You Ever Need to Know About Microsoft
Chris Linfoot has discovered Microsoft’s secret sauce. (Apologies for all the posts today, I’ve got many years of backlogged stuff in my head. I’ll slow down soon, honestly.)

Cats in Things They’re Not Supposed to Be (a.k.a. “Cat Me If You Can”)
This is an amusing music video I found a couple days ago. It says it’s “for Canada’s premiere folk/funk/meth-rock/R&B fusion group,” a group called Agile Like This. The song is very catchy, and the video is pretty funny in places. (NSFW warning: a little profanity and a single barely-racy picture.)
Hello world!
It’s a Sunday, and I didn’t have anything more interesting to do, so I’ve finally decided to install some blog software and give the world even more useless commentary. Fun, eh? According to Aaron Brazell, there are two kinds of bloggers: “those who blog for themselves, and those who write for others.” I’m one who [...]
